The German target submarine JONAS berthed at the Naval Test Station WTD 71, Eckernfoerde. Former Swedish VALEN, acquired in 1983, taken over 6 Jun 1984, and modified as a remotely controlled Underwater Target, capable of diving to 30 metres, initially used for DM2 A3 torpedoes.
