Description:

GLOBAL TRADER, the former BARON BELHAVEN of Hogarth built by J.Readhead at South Shields in 1960, is seen eastbound in the Kiel Canal on 13th June 1981 with a cargo loaded at Visakhapatnam, India, it seems originally for discharge at Augusta in Italy.

Recently purchased by Lelakis Shipping of Piraeus, between 1967 and 1980 she had been operated under the same name by Atlantic Shipping Co. (N.Tsimplis - otherwise known as Chimples).

She arrived at New York on 13th January 1982 with engine trouble and was subsequently broken up locally.
