No, Minerva has never had any connection at all with Hurtigruten. She was originally ordered for the Soviet navy with the intention of her being a research vessel. After the collapse of the Soviet Bloc her construction was suspended. Later she was acquired by V Ships and was completed as a cruise ship for Swan Hellenic. After P&O junked Swan Hellenic the ship sailed under various charters to the likes of Phoenix Reisen and Saga before ending up back with the reformed Swan Hellenic. Now, it seems that again under new owners Swan Hellenic with be reformed yet again (this is about the third time) and the charming Minerva will sail again.
