One of Blue Star Line's A-class reefers, the Perth was delivered by Smith's Dock in November 1976 as Almeria Star. In 1974 the company established a Hong Kong based subsidiary Lion Shipping and transferred the vessel that was renamed Perth, along with other sisters Harlech, Lanark and Castle Peak. In 1988 she reverted to her Blue Star name when she switched to the Austasia Maritime, Singapore subsidiary, then r/n to Avila Star in 1990. In 2003 she was sold to Russian fruit interests and r/n Ice Bell, and in September 2009 arrived at Alang for demolition.
