Fort De Soto lies at the mouth of the Tampa Bay from the Gulf of Mexico. There is a nice fishing pier that can be used to get pictures of the ocean going ships as they go in and out. There are ample parking and bathroom facilities with a snack bar open during the daytime. It does cost $5 per day to visit the park which includes swimming, fishing, and the historic fort.
