Yes indeed, the car was an Opel Captain model 1962

I was the captain of this lady...The car I used to have on board always, was my owners' wedding gift when I got married. My standard voyages (April through December) was carrying timbers from Onega or Mesane, or Narian Mar (Petsora) to England , most of the times through the Norwegian Fiords. Beautiful litle/big ship. A stormy (8-9B) and cold night (-25C) 70nm north of Murmansk suffered a major hull crack and the holds flooded, as a consequence of which the ship started inclined dangerously from one side to the other (free surface effect) . In order to avoid from sinking and save the crew saved , I decided to voluntarily ground the vessel at the estuary of a river. After a week of negotiations with the Soviet Navy officers, a gigantic navy tug boat named Altair, after having temporarily repaired the keel damages towed us to Murmansk . The vessel drydocked but due extensive grounding damages suffered to the keel the ship was declared by her class as "Constructed total loss" , and notice of abandonment tendered to the under writers
That was the end of the beautiful "Spalmatori Jnr" which I will always remember with nostalgia.

For many years you have seen the superstructure and part of the hull of this old lady in the passenger port of Murmansk.
It was used as the administration of the Murmansk salvage and rescue company. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture, but you can see it on a Google map. A couple of years ago the ship was on fire, and today it is completely dismantled.

The car on the deck cargo seems to be an Opel "Kapitän".
