Description:
Seen laid-up on the Hylebos Waterway. One of six tugboats ordered from Johnson Iron Works by the US Shipping Board's Emergency Fleet Corporation, she was later used for many years by Gulf Oil Corporation. As a tug of Design 1036, she is, to my knowledge, one of only 5 vessels still afloat out of over 1,000 ordered by the United States Shipping Board during World War I.

Her sisters were DELAMAR (ON 219554), DELAND (ON 219604/270988, IMO 7308011), DEGREY (ON 219162), DELAPLAINE (ON 219603) and DEGOLIA (ON 219137). Of the five, only DELAND has also managed to survive, now operated as the fishing vessel PURSUIT.
