M/s ROMER, a universal general cargo ship built in the Adolf Warski Shipyard [not as written in the description in the Nowa (New) Shipyard] for PLO (Polish Ocean Lines) as the fifth ship from the B516 series. (B516/II/5). Launching took place on November 16, 1963. The ship entered service on the North American route on May 8, 1964. In 1971, the ship was the first ship under the Polish flag to call at the port of Wilmington in North Carolina (USA). The ship without adventures worth describing sailed in the colors of PLO (it was never owned by PZM-Polsteam, as someone mistakenly pointed out in the description of the fate of the ship) until 1987, i.e. 24 years. After finishing service under the Polish flag, she was sold to the British company SAINA Shipping Ltd based in London. Registered under the flag of Honduras , with the name changed to OMER , she did not sail in the new colors for long .
In October 1987, she was taken to the Taiwanese port of Kaohsiung for scrapping, where she ended her service at sea.
