Description:

On 05/06/2017 occurred a fire onboard the fishing vessel VIRGINIA I
Authorities have stated that the cause of the fire were the welding works performed in the interior of the vessel during the repair works being carried out on this vessel.
The fire was successfully extinguished and no injured persons in this incident.

Thanks Jadran, my friend for your nice comments, though I don't think I deserve such accolades. Jad, I am happy to see that you are going out much more, don't confine yourself to your apartment now that Summer is here, go out enjoy the sun and post more diverse pictures from more other parts of Croatia.

Have read the news in the newspapers about this incident, and have then 'definitely' decided, to go to Bakar and see if she is still there.....

Before those rather unfortunate news in the newspapers,, I didn't have a slight idea that VIRGINIA I even exists !!

.... so, after this incident, it only remains, and hopefully to be, that upon her thorough overall repairs to be carried-out now, she will come back again in a satisfactory good condition (maybe, *immaculate* hehe).

VIRGINIA I is a standard Soviet trawler of 'Baltika' type (project 1328), built 1977 at Sosnovka.
She is Croatian owned for 23 years, being purchased at Latvia in 1994.
