Yes Steven, that's true.
Obviously the engine room part could not be widened the way they widened the fore-ship, i.e. they cut it in two parts longitudinally and inserted a part in the middle. Thus the accommodation/engine room part got sponsons.
Also as she was widened heavy stiffeners were welded on the sheer strake (berghoutsgang), as the distance between the most distant strakes (uiterste vezel) is increased. (Not sure about the correct English terms but the Dutch are correct.)

She is one of the three widened (& lengthened as well) panamax containerships from NSB and now more then 6000 teu.
