The accident became only known after nine crew members was rescued by a ship that was 21 miles away from the 'Dana Trader'. One man was later recovered dead by Egypt Navy, one more was still missing. The ship was heading from Damietta to Beirut-Lebanon and 15 nm north of Abu Qir when it sank.
