The 'BBC Marmara', carrying 1.407 tonnes of concrete beams, ran aground off Eilean Trodday, Isle of Skye, on July 25, 2021, while en route from Foynes to Scrabster. It got stuck in position 57 43.717N, 006 18.267W, at 2.45 a.m. The hull was breached with ensuing water ingress. The Portree lifeboats 'CH16', 'CH10' and the emergency tug 'Ivoli Black' were tasked to intercept the vessel and escortit to Stornoway. The Portree ALB was tasked to board the vessel if possible and make a damage assessment. As of July 26, the ship remained anchored in pos. 58° 10.93' N 006° 21.75' W.
