Description:

Pelagic farming catamaran support vessel 'Pemeia' moored at the O Grove fishing port (Ria de Arousa, Pontevedra, Spain).

Pemeia are the initials of "Plataforma de Engorde Mixto de Especies de Interés Acuícola", which describe the vessel function in the pelagic farming cycle.

The system installed on board pioneers the use of the upwelling technique (air flow to renew the farm water where the pelagic fish are growing), thus accelerating animal growth, and while minimizing the risk of their contamination and early death.
