Description:

She was the reason I went to Hong Kong, after hearing on BBC that she will be anchored off Tsing Yi.

Weather forecast was bad, but incorrect; I ended up having nice hot weather, and have got me a couple of sunburns to prove it.

As for this aircraft carrier, nothing beats the good old "battleship diplomacy"... :)

Thanks for your comment, Roy. I think that we're in the middle of a continental arms race, with China, Japan and Korea pumping up their fleets. It reminds me of South American nations purchasing state of the art dreadnoughts back in the times before WW1 - not significant enough on a global scale, but perfect for local sabre rattling...

Cheers

Very nice catch Vlad!
Now you have to go for the new one with pennant no.17 that has been launched this year.
Cheers,
Roy

Thanks, Ralph. I felt guilty after missing the USS Fitzgerald limping back to Yokosuka, so I went to HK even if the forecast said rain across the board...
So, yeah, I sure am proud. :)

Cheers
