Union-Castle Mail S.S. Co. Ltd.'s 1946 Harland & Wolff, Belfast, Glasgow, built refrigerated cargo ship RUSTENBURG CASTLE is seen passing Gravesend on Sunday 17th September 1967 inbound for London from Port Elizabeth. I recall that she had suffered a small collision while at anchor off Southend waiting for a discharge berth and so fortunately proceeded to dock early for damage assessment and repairs.

RUSTENBURG CASTLE arrived at Shanghai on 19.9.71 for breaking although in that era the Chinese often continued trading such ships locally for a period of time before cutting them up.
