Description:

Sulphur tanker - owned Sulphur Carriers Ltd. and managed Denholm. At Swan Hunters' Wallsend Shiprepair yard. BU Chittagong 1.1997. Mid-Tyne Ferries vessel crossing in front from Hebburn to Wallsend - this was public ferry (as seen in film Get Carter) but owned by Swan Hunters to transport their workers. On the right, new Bibby tanker YORKSHIRE is fitting out.

She and her sister, the Nordic Texas were most successful and I believe profitable ships. Heard that the sulphur was hard on people's eyes and their watches turned black!
