Hi Bob,, only now I checked and see,, that this is the 1st and only photo of *this boat* (carrying the name "Moorburg") on this esteemed website! congratulations for the post and this your fine photograph!!

@ Jadran,, if I remember it right the restrooms were in that area, I used those ferries a lot during the starting times of my sailing carriere to get 4x a week from Finkenwerder to the Landungsbruecken and then with U-Bahn to Paulinenstrasse where the day school was.,, always nice memories of those years 75-78

The thing I remember about the toilet on Bubendey-Ufer pier in the 1980s is . . . . there wasn't one!
Jens Boldt on Aug 07, 2017 17:59 (7 months ago)
Hehe, no luckily I'm me, not him. Otherwise my home would have been Zorgvlied/Amsterdam since January 2010, ok, that's a very calm neighbourhood I've heard - but too calm for my taste.

So, Jens, at that time, with the perm, you must have looked like Bobby Farell from the famous German pop group Boney M... they were on top of their popularity also in 80s (hmm Bobby Farell... maybe, "he" was "you" or viceversa, 2xlol)
Jens Boldt on Aug 07, 2017 17:30 (7 months ago)
So to speak, the focus lying completely on "out" (Have a look at my profile page...)
Bob Scott on Aug 07, 2017 17:25 (7 months ago)
But you later got things straiightened-out, yes?
Jens Boldt on Aug 07, 2017 16:59 (7 months ago)
Worse, much worse, in retrospect Mohican would have been cool, but it was... perm!
Bob Scott on Aug 07, 2017 16:21 (7 months ago)
@Jens: Mohican?
@Jadran: It is now so long ago that I cannot remeber ever visiting the 'Herren-WC' on a HADAG ferry. I would probably be too busy photographing ships. I do, however, remember the loo on Bubendey-Ufer pier!!!

Haircut :-)

Today's harbour ferries have two, but I really can't remember where this special place was aboard the old ferries...
jadran on Aug 07, 2017 14:58 (7 months ago)
Please excuse me for being off the theme, but are there at the 6 portholes, seen at the aft of the vessel, located the Lavatory/toilets? wow what a question (sorry)...

: very nice & *nostalgic* photograph!
best regards

Would that be haircut or hair needing cut?
Despite the many times I visited Hamburg and travelled a HADAG ferry in the 1980s, I think this the only photo I ever took of one.
Vielen Dank für die Komplimente

As long as photos of me and my haircut back then don't turn up... that's fine by me! :-)

Agree with Axel, that's a nice one.

Very nice, Bob. Hope to see more Good-Old-Days-Photographs from your Hamburg-Tour!
