Hi Denis, first of all thanks for your attention on shot, at end of walkway is a platform for the harpooner.
Swordfishs are observed by men on top of vertical "stepway" and when swordifish has been seen , the harpooner provide to catch it only through manual power.
This is a unique fishing only in Messina Strait
