I served on the British Cavalier in the early fifties.
spent over a year on the Gulf to Argentina run via the Cape....a long time between ports. Had previously sailed in the British Prestige which was damaged in an Atlantic storm, and forced to return to the UK and the crew paid off.

Should be in "Tankers built before 1970". Doesn't matter then whether a product or crude carrier. (There was little or no difference in those days)

In any event I suspect she was a crude oil tanker rather than a product tanker

This BRITISH CAVALIER was built in 1942 by Laing's of Sunderland as EMPIRE CAVALIER. She was renamed BRITISH CAVALIER in 1945, after the end of World War II and was sent to breakers (Thomas W Ward) at Briton Ferry, South Wales in 1959.

your picture does not show the BRITISH CAVALIER with IMO 5052448.
This is the right BRITISH CAVALIER to your image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_British_Cavalier
