COMMENT THIS PHOTO(2)
This vessel has had an interesting career, starting life as the German experimental nuclear powered vessel Otto Hahn. She was launched in 1964 but not completed until 1968 when she was deignated as a research vessel/ore carrier. At the end of the experiment her nuclear facilities were removed and she arrived at Bremerhaven 18.9.82 with the name OHV 40 on her bows. This preceeded her sale to Rickmers Rederi for DM2 million who then sent her to Poland for conversion to a container carrier including the fitting of the side-mounted cranes. She spent much of the next few years on charter as Norasia Susan and later Carmen, before being sold to COSCO and renamed Hua Kang He in 1989.
Cheers
Brent

We, PROJEX Shipping Hamburg, bought the ex Otto Hahn without the nuclear reactor. At Rickmers Shipyard the vessel was rebuild to an Container vessel in a time of 1 - 1,5 years. The next years the vessel was named TROPHY, NORASIA SUSAN and CARMEN.
