She was built in Burntisland, Scotland in 1946/47 as HARPALION. Renamed ALMAR in 1962 and then IJESHA LION in 1976. On 14 June 1977 a fire in her engine room damaged the ship beyond the point of repair and she was subsequently retired from service..

Renamed HALLI in 1979 for her voyage to the scrapyard and on 4 June 1979 she arrived at Santander, Spain under tow for demolition..
