Probably in a box stowed on the helideck. If they are going to do any work on the boat and there's no opportunity to take the heli ashore, it's best to remove them as they are quite fragile. It only takes around 15 mins. to remove the blades on a Hughes 500.

G'day Chaps,

Actually spent a couple of years out there doing just that. At that time the Japanese did not believe in using helicopters. Most of my time was spent on Taiwanese or Korean boats.

yes the chopper is used to assist vessel to find tuna. And indeed this unusual on a japanese seiner ship. regards Tyzef29

Looks like a tuna purse seiner. Helicopter will be used to find tuna.
