Completed in 1925 by Mollers yard, Odense Staalskibs, as EFFIE MAERSK, for A/B D.S. Svenborg, Denmark. Managed by A.P. Moller.
Sold in 1954 to Compania Maritime Estrilla Agui & Rombo Blanco S.A., Costa Rica, and renamed ROMBUS
Sold to Hinrich Peters of Hamburg in 1956 and renamed HINRICH PETERS
Demolished at Hamburg by Eisen und Metall in 1963

Pictured 13/09/62 arriving in the River Tyne with Baltic timber (pit props) which would be unloaded at Tyne Dock, South Shields

Hi Emdee,
all thumbs up from my side as well - you made my day!
A wonderfull scene with authentic colours and good light setting.
The fully laden ship with it's timber cargo has a nice nostalgic touch. Her conditition seems to be immaculate - especially when one keeps in mind that she went to the breakers only seven month after this picture was taken.

A fabulous shot, and the ship appears in excellent condition for her 37 years of age.
