Yes, "Manhattan" was the biggest tanker in the world when launched in 1962. She made only one call at Santa Cruz, chartered by CEPSA (Compañía Española de Petróleos S.A.), owner of Tenerife refinery.

The first commercial ship passing the Northwest-Passage in 1969.
