That was my thought Andrew, I suppose it all got to do with the delivery date, i.e. before or after April 2018.
But only time will tell if this is correct.

I certainly don't think anything due for delivery before April 18 will be the Magenta colour, interesting to see what happens after then.

You know what comes to my mind? Those air travel alliances, where members get to keep their legacy liveries, and only some planes are painted in alliance colors. Maybe it will be the case here...
