Atlántida Submarine S.L., is a company located in Puerto de Mogán and has a long experience in the tourism sector, which offers various activities such as guided visits through the Port and a travel to the bottom of the sea in a submarine, the GOLDEN SHARK.
The company was established in November 1996 and the purpose was to offer excursions to the bottom of the sea. In 1997 the submarine GOLDEN SALMON (Mark II model), of Finnish origin, began to sail the seabed of Puerto de Mogán. After several years of activity, the current submarine GOLDEN SHARK replaced it. It is also a Finnish design submarine and equipped with most advanced technology, a more modern design and capacity.
The GOLDEN SHARK (Mark III model) belongs to the third generation of submarines specifically designed for the tourist market, reaching a maximum of 75 meters deep and it does not encourage any risk to the passengers. However ithe submarine GOLDEN SHARK dives only to about 25 meters being the maximum depth of the area.
Thanks to the large portholes one can admire the underwater marine life and shipwrecks that are approximately at 25 feet deep.
The atmospheric conditions inside the Golden Shark are fully regulated so that the passengers will not receive any change in pressure during the dive. The tour is suitable for all public, and there is no risk to pregnant women, people with hearing problems, heart, etc.
The submarine GOLDEN SHARK, Mark III model, characterized by the following technical features:
• Length (Length): 18.30 meters / Beam (width): 3.85 meters.
• Weight: 108,000 kilos.
• Capacity: 44 people and 2 pilots.
• Six 20 HP electric motors that allow excellent manoeuvrability and movement in all directions.
• Two separate cabins, one for passengers (maximum 44 persons) and one for the drivers (Note: pilots are merchant marine officers).
• Portholes 0.60 meters in diameter.
• Air Conditioning.
• A TV monitor to display transient manoeuvres dive and ascent to the surface.
• Oxygen reserve during 72 hours (3 days).
The submarine meets all the safety regulations issued by the authorities of the Navy, and being up to date on all regulatory inspections.
