Chale is a very active tug she will be on standby for most of the modern cruise ships but assist the older vessels as needed. This also goes for Cargo and containers as can be seen in the image below

The CHALE is on standby for every ship coming in and out Castries Harbour and will continue to do so, as they have now extended the berth to take the really large passenger ships at the tourist mooring.

The tug in view is the former CHALE built in 1963 at Thornycroft Ship Builders, Woolston, Southampton for the Red Funnel Towage company based in the Port of Southampton.

Since leaving the Red Funnel fleet the CHALE has been at St Lucia for nearly 35 years and seems to be permanently at her moorings in Castries Harbour.
