I shot this picture in Sandefjord (the Whaling Capital), Norway, probably June 1st 1966 of this laid up whale cather which I have identified as "R 1", hometown Gibraltar. She is built in Rotterdam (N V Ijsselwerft) for Panama-company: Cia de Naviera Rosina SA for whale catching at Grytviken, SOUTH GEORGIA, until 1962. Catched for Norwegian THOR DAHL ans KSOMOS IV expeditions the seasons 1963/64 og 1964/65. Laid up in Sandefjord 1965 - 1966. Then whaling in Peruian seas. Later sold to Argentina for operations as coast guard vessel DELFIN (Informations from Dag Bakka JRs book of Whaling). Several sister ships of "R 1" were built. Scan from my BW paper picture.
