THERAIOS was photographed passing Portishead, inbound for Avonmouth, on the afternoon tide of 28th January 1968, exactly fifty years ago today.

She had been built at Gothenburg in 1935 as BIRKALAND, becoming BROWIND in 1960 before purchase by A.Sigalas & Platis Brothers in 1966. She was broken up at her home port of Piraeus, moving to an Eleusis breaker's yard on 28 October 1978
