Description:

US Navy Arleigh Burke Class guided missile destroyer.
She was built in Pascagoula Mississippi and commissioned in 1998. She is around 8900 tons full, 505 1/4 feet long, with a top speed of over 30 knots.
Missile armament includes two Mk 41 Vertical Launch Systems with a total of 90 cells. These systems can carry SM-2/3/6 Series Standard Surface to Air and Anti Ballistic Missiles, Vertical Launch Anti Submarine Rockets, Tomahawk Land Attack Cruise Missiles, and Enhanced Sea Sparrow Short Range Surface to Air Missiles. Soon the Long Range Anti Ship Missiles will be deployed from these cells as well. In addition she carries two canister mounts that can carry up to 4 Harpoon Anti Ship Missiles each (currently empty in these pictures).
Gun armament includes one Mk 45 5"/54 caliber Dual Purpose (Anti Air and Anti Surface) Gun, 2 Mk 15 20mm Phalanx Close In Weapon Systems, 2 Mk 38 25mm Cannons, and 2-4 12.7mm Machine Guns.
In addition the ship carries two triple 12.75 inch torpedo tube mounts for Mk 46/50/54 anti submarine torpedoes and can land and refuel (but not support or hanger) and MH-60 Helicopter.
The ship carries the SPY-1D AEGIS Phased Radar and Combat Control System along with other modern radars, sonars, and electronic systems. The crew for this ship is up to 280 officers and enlisted.
Highlights of her career include patrolling the Black Sea, fighting pirates off Oman, and patrols off Libya.
She is seen her going east past Fort Monroe/Old Point Comfort Hampton VA towards the Atlantic Ocean, probably in support the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) final Complex Exercise in preparation of her upcoming deployment.
