Description:
CORVINA seen laid-up at Macquarie No.6 Berth in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. 19/01/2018
The decommissioned fishing vessel CORVINA has been idle at the Port of Hobart for over seven years. The 53 year old vessel is currently unseaworthy.
In 2014, news surfaced that vessel would be used to carry relief goods to the Philippines for the organisation Project Philippines Australia Inc. Since then, volunteers have been maintaining the vessel and fundraising efforts have been made to make the ship seaworthy again.
Once enough money has been raised, the CORVINA will be renamed ANNA’S QUEST and sail out of Hobart loaded with aid supplies for the typhoon afflicted Philippines.
CORVINA has the capacity to carry 20 tonnes of water, 30 tonnes of fuel and 80 cubic metres of refrigerated goods along with 140 tonnes of cargo space.
