Description:

2,950 grt; 5,280 dwt.
Operator: Navigation Maritime Bulgare, Varna, Bulgaria.
Built: 1945 by Bumeister & Wain’s Skibsvaerft, Copenhagen, Denmark. Yard no. 679.
Machinery: four-cylinder compound steam reciprocating engine plus low-pressure turbine, with total power of 1,800 ihp. Speed: 10.5 knots.
Built presumably for German owners during WWII (launch date: 14/9/1944) but delivered on completion to the Danish Government as FORNAES.
1946-renamed DANBELT (Danish flag).
1946-sold to Bulgaria, renamed RODINA (as photo).
1976-to breakers at Split, Yugoslavia 4/1.
