Converted from a container ship the interim AOR MV ASTERIX at HMC Dockyard in Halifax NS on March 31 2018. The ship has been leased to the Royal Canadian Navy. The ship is not a commissioned ship of the navy and not entitled to the prefix HMCS. The ship however sports a Maple Leaf on the funnel and flies the Canadian Armed Forces Auxiliary Vessel Ensign.
