Yes, I have heard that explanation before on "Wagenborg" vessels in similar situations. When asked C/O of this, he recalculated and take the squat effect into consideration, the ship WL was still above load marks. I am not saying this is the case here, and I note that loading is not completed.

She is loading in fresh water. Draft will decrease in salt waters.

@adenanthos: She certainly is "nose-heavy", and when I look at the picture in full size I can not even see her plimsoll line.
It could be she has still not discharged her ballast (she is loading according "photo details")?

Yes, Montreal the seaway have a lot of great spots for ship photography. I'd say is was one the best places in the country for ship photography
