2006-09-04. KRIOS is transiting downbound Welland Canal, approaching Thorold docks; at 1955 hrs suddenly drops her anchors. At 1957 hrs she is on a collision course with Guard Gate’s northwest approach wall. At 1958 hrs she hits the wall hard, hull screeched and vibrated, engine went silent. She moored immediately, few of the crew disembarked and begun inspecting the hull for any visible damage.
