Description:

Another ONE magenta colored vessel, this time at Imabari Mihara shipyard in Hiroshima prefecture; it's design is less attractive than that of NYK's "Eagle" class, IMHO.

Her IMO number is marked on her stern, so no more mystery here.

Pieter, me worrying about aesthetics is just me being... human, I guess. :)

I know that we live in an age of triumph of function over form (or, at least we're not developed enough to combine both in some perfect way), but I still think that it's possible to develop something new, even in brutal money making machines that containers ships are supposed to be today.

I'm rambling a bit, I know.

And, of course, there will be very little difference in the appearance of a fully loaded "NYK Eagle" class and this one. :)

Cheers

Vlad

Yes, ordered in 2015 as Yd 2576 as sister of K-Line's MEISHAN BRIDGE (Yd 2575)

Vlad, the purpose of containerships is to carry cargo that will make the superstructure more or less invisible, so you don't need to worry about esthetics.

This ship was perhaps ordered by K-Line.

As the bow is quite simular as the M-class vessels of K-Line

Well, Capt. Ted, I would be worried if you said anything else... :)

When I saw first megaboxers some ten years ago, they appeared absolutely hideous to me. But, what can I say, they grew on me...

@Lappino,, can you please point out to me what look/angle is attractive on these ship in the first place ? :-)

It's the design of her superstructure that I find less attractive than those of the "Eagles"...

Well still looks good Vlad, maybe it's the light that her hull-colors looks a little less vibrant.
