Description:

Photo taken at 2pm with ship at Station Pier in Melbourne. These ships always berth bow in at Melbourne and stern in at Devonport. I do not know why it was stern in when I took this picture as when I came back at 5pm to embark for the overnight trip it was bow in as usual.

Bow ramp is only 4.5m wide, so likely due to carrying wider loads. Stern ramps listed as 5.0m and 8.0m

It’s not that uncommon to see it like that in Melbourne, I not sure why they do it ,I will try and find out.

Odd - always loads & unloads thru stern at Devonport, meaning unload (and load) thru bow at Melbourne.
