(Once again) A big thanks to all of you guys! This one was really amazing when she passed Bubendey Ufer(which is more or less a stone's throw away from giants like this one when they enter the harbour). I guess it was the first time I felt dwarfed :-)

Best wishes to all of you,
Jens

...yet another huge container ship... but it's the story, and the comparison to the Ubena that makes all the difference! Great work, thanks for sharing!

Clyde, I am very curious what people would say in 2654 if they discovered the remains of an ULCC like this... ;-)

You are right Rick. I just checked, Fairplay IX is 6 m longer and also wider than Ubena (which is a 1:1 replica based on a wreck discovered at Bremen in October 1962. The wreck was dated back to ca. 1380).
Technically we've improved a bit in the last 638 years :-)

Thanks for your kind compliment!

Best wishes
Jens

Yep, have to agree, a pleasant and well composed shot Jens.
No doubt, even the tug's dimesions exceed those of the 'Ubena von Bremen'!

Thank you very much Antonio. Today everything was perfect: She arrived in bright sunshine, we have temperatures like in the south of Spain :-) and slowly but surely the ships (like Ubena von Bremen) that participate in Port anniversary are arriving, too.

Best wishes,
Jens
