And wasn't the weather dismal? I have never had good weather for photographs at Portsmouth in the last year!

Hi Kelvin,
I just had a quick look at your photographs before responding to your message - they look a great collection.
With a few exceptions, the Solent has been mainly misty these days. I have tried minimising the use of the telephoto lens to about 300mm and using a large file size - thus enabling cropping without losing quality. It works for me anyway, and it seems to produce a clearer photograph. The theory being, the closer the better the image.
I took the photograph from the Round Tower, OK for that time in the morning. Looks like you were on the Saluting Platform on the 'Hot Walls'.
