Description:

US lightship docked as a museum ship in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore MD.
Commissioned in 1930, she remained in service until 1970, and has been preserved since in downtown Baltimore MD since 1988. Stations she served on included Fenwick DL, Chesapeake VA, and the Delaware Bay DL.
She was built for the US Lighthouse Service as LV 116, absorbed by the US Coast Guard in 1939, she was designated WAL 538 and then WLV 538.
She is 133 feet long, 30 feet wide, has a draft 13 feet 9 inches, and weighs 130 tons. While she had a top speed 9 knots, she spent much of her time on station at anchor. Her crew was 16, was armed with 2 20mm guns during World War II, and had 2 30,000 candela power lights along with a radio beacon emitter.
