Description:

US Navy Charleston Class Attack Cargo Ship in the reserve basin at the Philadelphia Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility at the old Reserve Basin of the former Philadelphia Naval Shipyard.
She was built in Newport News VA, Commissioned in 1969, Decommissioned in 1994, and struck from the reserve list in 2015.
During her service she assisted in the evacuation from Vietnam in 1975 and the Gulf War in 1991.
She is 18600 tons loaded, 575 feet 6 inches long, and has a top speed of 20 knots or more.
In addition to her complement of 336 Naval Personnel and 226 Troops, she was optimized to carry much of the cargo a Marine Expeditionary Force might need. She also carried over 10 different landing craft to help unload her and other ships.
She has been maintained as a mobilization asset, however, I would imagine in the near future she will be disposed off.
