Description:

Former Ocean Surveillance Ship USNS Capable (T-AGOS 16) now in service with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
She operates in partnership with the San Francisco Exploratorium in an effort to survey, map, and photographic areas of the ocean floor previously unexplored. She is one of the only NOAA Ships permanently assigned an ROV (Remote Operating Vehicle).
She recently completed a mission/survey off the US East Coast. She is seen here going east past Fort Monroe Hampton VA towards the Chesapeake Bay. There is a large NOAA Base in Norfolk VA that she probably was leaving from.
