|Always in P.& O.ownership but in British India's colours "Peshawur" is departing Port Adelaide with a list to starboard in c19371938. Note the crowd of Lascars on the forepeak. Built by Barclay, Curle & Coy as the standard ship "War Diana" for The Shipping Controller, she was sold and renamed in 1919.
On 23 December 1943 on a voyage from Swansea to Calcutta she was torpedoed and sunk by a Japanese submarine near Madras, India. All crew were saved.
