A real beauty, this vessel was built in 1945 by Götaverken at Göteborg for the Rederi AB Nordstjernan, known as the Johnson Line. The ship was built for the South America service of the company and so was named Venezuela. Interestingly enough the company owned its own shipyard, the Lindholmen Mekaniska Verkstad also at Göteborg, but chose to built the ship at Götaverken.
In 1970 the ship was sold to Overseas Navigation of Liberia and was renamed Monruby, under that name she served till scrapped in 1972 at Kaohsiung.
