The ship was built for Swedish America Line as part of a joint Swedish and French service to Canada under the CARE Line (Canada RoRo Express Line) banner, in 1972. In 1978 the ship was lengthened and was chartered to ACL (Atlantic Container Line. The ship was later converted to carry clay, had a stint carrying paper rolls and was finally broken up in 2004, at Alang, India.
