WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
Low winter afternoon sunlight spotlights the sight that we will never want to see again. USS John S. McCain (DDG-56), an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer of the US Navy 7th Fleet, collided with an oil tanker "Alnic MC" off Singapore coast on Aug.21st, 2017. After the incident, the destroyer was ferried to its home port Yokosuka Base aboard this super heavy lift vessel "Treasure". The cruise was another hard work as they had to make an emergency stopover at Subic Bay Naval Base in the Philippines due to the typhoon "Lan". "Ship-on-ship" is an interesting sight and I happened to see two of such views in 2017 (Another is USS Fitzgerald (DDG62) on Transshelf) but this should not happen again. My deepest sympathies, R.I.P to the fallen ten crew members.
