US Maritime Administration Ready Reserve Fleet Roll On Roll Off Ship that is maintained in 5 days readiness. She was built in Japan in 1977 as the SEASPEED AMERICA and acquired by MARAD in 1993. She is berthed at the Earl Shipyard in Portsmouth VA. Behind her you can see her sister ship CAPE RISE and the US Navy Landing Ship USS CARTER HALL (LSD 50) under refit in the yard.
