Description:

On July 28, 2018, the crude oil tanker was heading for Midia, Romania, when she suffered an engine failure. Without power the vessel went adrift. Authorities were alerted and three tugs were dispatched to the scene. The tugs took the tanker under tow through the Bosphorus and on August 3, Nissos Therassia, had been safely towed through the strait, causing a complete traffic interruption during many hours.
The vessel and tugs are seen from Sariyer district.

Philippe, This particular tanker is classed as an LR2 tanker which means she can carry both dirty and clean products and this is why I have changed the category for the vessel, also many thanks for uploading the three photographs of the Nisssos Therassia to shipspotting.
