US Coast Guard Famous Class 270 foot Medium Endurance Cutter going west past Fort Monroe Hampton VA towards the coast guard station at Portsmouth VA.
She was commissioned in 1986 after being built in Middletown, Rhode Island. Base in Boston Massachusetts she has participated in a number of Search and Rescue Missions as well anti narcotic and law enforcement operations.
She is 1800 tons full load, 270 feet long with a top speed of 19.5 knots. She has a crew of 100 and is armed with a Mk 75 76mm OTO Melara Cannon and 2 0.50 caliber machine guns as well having the capacity to carry and hanger a helicopter up to the size of HH-60 Jay Hawk.
