An unlucky ship from the very beginning, this one. I first set eyes on her in 1984, newly launched but laid-up in Gdynia shipyard after Stena had cancelled her because delivery had been delayed by Poland having run out of hard currency to buy the equipment for her. She was to have been named STENA POLONICA, one of Stena’s ‘Super Night Ferries’. She didn’t enter service (with ANEK) until 1992
